The name of the software is a combination of the surrealist Spanish artist Salvador Dali and the animated Pixar character Robot WALL-E.ĭALL-E 2 generates alterations to the original image by obtaining the image’s CLIP embeddings and passing them through the Diffusion decoder. The newest AI model from OpenAI is called DALLE 2 can produce art and realistic visuals from a description given in plain language. I have tried to include some quite different styles to demonstrate the diversity of the art that can be created using Ultra Fractal.Published: 4 August 2022, 1:30 pm Updated:, 3:56 am imagine caribean dream: purple beautiful octopus swiming inside a golden small aquarium surrounded by tiny microphones: surreal neon forest environment at night, purple water covered floor, golden roses on the floor + dark mood environment + cinematic, hight detail, realistic render octane, 35mm, –ar 5:3 I hope you enjoy this small selection of my work. One of the things I really enjoy when creating a new fractal is forcing a lot of colour and texture into something.įifteen years on I am still as passionate about this fascinating form of visual art as ever, and am continuing to learn new methods and develop techniques to suit my own particular style, although am badly in need of some upgraded hardware to keep pace with increasing sophistication of the software! My current work is exhibited and available for purchase on Deviantart, as well as on my own website, aartika! Fractal art. Like Cornflowers, these very stylised fractal flower forms were created using the ‘Flowers’ shapes plug-in with ‘Orbit Traps’ outside colouring. This uses one of my favourite colouring algorithms written by Samuel Monnier, with a pixel formula. I feel honoured to have a photo of Benoit Mandelbrot himself viewing the print at the exhibition! I have also had my art published in several magazines, books and calendars, including the Fractal Universe Calendars, which I edited for a few years with my friend and fellow artist, Linda Allison.Ī simple spiral fractal which uses ‘mandala epsilon julia’ formula by Toby Marshall with ‘T Pure Color-by’ outside colouring. Over the years a few of my works have been successful in several international fractal art competitions, including the 2006 ICM Benoit Mandelbrot Contest, with ‘Eifiona’. I also curated, with the internationally renowned fractal artist, Janet Parke, a group exhibition at the Nature in Art Museum in Tewkesbury in 2007, in which several of each of our own artworks were exhibited. The exhibition was combined with an educative element within several Kent schools in the form of small group workshops, which the children enjoyed and were fun to do. Although I am not a professional artist by any means, I was fortunate enough to have had a solo exhibition of my work sponsored by Kent County Council in 2006. I love the controllability of this program which allows for such a wide variations of artistic style. I remember as a child buying books of paper patterns from WHSmith. Going back a few years I made a large series of fractals using one particular Julia formula which produces a single "big" spiral.įor many years I tried to avoid creating fractal art that attempted to look like flowers, instead tending to go for more abstract fractal spirals. I find there is something quite ethereal about the stormy background. This early piece is from 2002 and is one of my personal favourites.
